It’s no secret that Jujutsu Kaisen is an intensely popular anime series that is currently undergoing, what I call, the Demon Slayer effect. By that, I mean that the manga has exploded in popularity since the anime began airing.
More evidence of this effect was revealed yesterday when it was announced that the Jujutsu Kaisen manga had outsold Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece by a ratio of 2:1!
In just the first half of 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen has sold 4,630,685 copies. However, if you think that Jujutsu Kaisen is the only manga that is giving Luffy a run for his money, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End sold 4,350,795 copies and The Apothecary Diaries sold 3,790,236 copies.
What about One Piece? It’s sitting in 4th place with 2,189,898 copies.
