With each passing day, yet another PlayStation-exclusive title has been announced as an upcoming PC title, Ghost of Tsushima. The acclaimed title has been deemed an experience that must be played, and between you and me, I was counting on this eventually happening so I could play the game on much more powerful hardware.
As revealed by Sucker Punch and Nixxes, the team handling the port, the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be released onto the PC on May 16, 2024, just a month away.
The Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will include the base game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode. Legends will also be cross-platform capable, and PC players can team up with players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and partake in in-game voice chat.
That’s not all, as this will be the first PlayStation-ported PC game that sports a new PlayStation overlay that includes a Friends list, Trophies, Settings, and access to your PlayStation Profile. That’s right. This game will have full PlayStation Trophy support, and it’s nice to see it finally happening. Given how PlayStation was keen on bringing more games to the PC, I figured this would eventually be a thing.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper PC port without several upgrades, which include ultrawide monitor support, frame rate boosts, and image quality enhancement, thanks to Nvidia’s DLSS/DLAA, AMD’s FSR 3, and Intel’s XeSS. The DualSense will also be supported, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, while only being wired.
Then we come to the PC requirements, which look quite similar (but not exactly) to those from Horizon Forbidden West, with the latter being slightly higher. These look great, and unless you’re looking at playing at 4K 60FPS, most PCs should be able to handle them. When it comes to optimization, I have the utmost trust and respect for Nixxes to get the job done.

Now that you know Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is heading to the PC, check out our review of the game for the PlayStation 5 to see why we’re so excited about this. I’m more excited about this since I skipped out on it due to performance concerns. But trust me, I’ll be into the game headfirst once this drops for the PC.
