Did you know that despite being beloved by many, the Sega Genesis is well behind its greatest years? Despite that, developers are still making games for it. One game in particular is Rocket Panda, developed by Mega Cat Studios and Space Pants Games, and they’re looking for some crowdfunding help to smash some stretch goals.
This paw-some initiative (hey, they said it, not me) isn’t just about a cute and cuddly bear navigating the virtual worlds of Sega Genesis; it’s about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming with a healthy dose of mother nature’s cutest bamboozler. Mega Cat Studios aims to transform this adorable marvel into a Sega Genesis virtuoso. From mastering the basics of 3-button mastery to conquering the complexities of the 6-button realm, our panda is poised for a journey more epic than a marathon through a labyrinth of bubble wrap.
Rocket Panda isn’t doing this all for anything but in the name of saving Badgers and fighting for the right to enjoy some tasty snacks, as Panda takes on worlds such as Chocolate World, Biscuit World, and Ice Cream World, to name a few. Besides, it’s a panda… and pandas are super cute.
“We’re on the lookout for the ultimate panda trainer to join our team and lead this project to 16-bit greatness,” says Dan Lavoie with the Mega Cat Studios team. Together, we can pioneer a bold new plan in the world of retro gaming. We can bearly contain ourselves as we embark on this panda gaming odyssey.”
If the development team hits the stretch goal of $50,000, it will open the door to a promising and unforgettable (potentially somewhat unrealistic) experience for players to witness worldwide. Mega Cat Studios has something special planned but won’t spill the beans unless they hit the stretch goal. With your support, Mega Cat Studios and Space Pants Game can make this dream a reality.
Visit the Rocket Panda Games Kickstarter page today to support this groundbreaking endeavor and unlock a new level of gaming greatness. Oh, and there’s a game demo you can download if you need an incentive, but it will need to be played on a Sega Genesis emulator
