As stated in the live event a few weeks ago, the microtransaction fueled “Tekkenshop “is now live. At the current time, there are at least 9 costumes available in total.
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2’s Jun Kazama outfit
- Tekken 1’s King outfit
- Tekken 5’s Kazuya Mishima combat outfit
- Tekken 4’s Jin Kazama hood outfit
- Tekken 5’s Ling Xiaoyu with a portrait
Nina Willams’s Tekken Bloodline Vengance’s motorcycle outfit was shown in previews, but at the current time, is not available. It’s cool to see that Bandai Namco isn’t limiting themselves to just main entry video games for these costumes. Tekken Coins, the new currency, has five bundles to choose from inorder to buy these new costumes with.
On the Arcade side for avatars, the outfits are sticking to Tekken 8 for their inspirations. The skins available are:
- Shaheen
- Reina
- Raven
- King
Anti-Cheating Inplementations
Alongside bug fixes, Bandai Namco decided to take things further to stop cheating on Tekken 8 servers, as discussed in the live session back in the same roadmap talk:
- Measures against players discovered cheating in RANKED MATCH
- High ranking players who were reported multiple times and were found to have cheated were removed from the LEADERBOARD, and their ranks were reset to BEGINNER
Cheating is cheating is cheating, and Bandai Namco’s tolerance level is not having it.
What’s Broke Can Be Fixed
Character balance changes have been made public here, also. Most of these are behavioral items for characters. Alot of base characters have at least 2 changes.
Just in case if you were curious to see these changes in action, youtuber Rooflemonger is already on the case with a new update video.
Tekken 8 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). Check out our review of Tekken 8, which we think is the best fighting game that has been revealed these past few months.
