Just like the other Bethesda Game Studios’ titles, Starfield gives the opportunity to join a group inside the game, called Factions. As of now, there are a total of five major joinable factions in Starfield with their own flavours and in this article, we’ll discuss them in brief and recommend the best faction that will provide you with decent bonuses in the long run.
As a matter of fact, you can join more than one faction in Starfield. Each faction has its own unique questline, and you’ll not be kicked out of other factions for joining one in your single playthrough.
It’s also worth mentioning that while there are other minor factions in the game, XenoFresh Corporation, Ecliptic Mercenaries, Spacers, and House Va’ruun. However, these five listed are the only ones you can join.
Constellation
Located in the New Atlantis of Planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system, the Constellation faction members are considered the most curious explorers for life. Led by Sarah Morgan (whom you can add as your companion), the Constellation faction is full of explorers, scientists, and people who put exploration as their way of life. As you play the main storyline, you’ll automatically be a part of the Constellation faction, and completing the quests will unlock Outposts, Companions, Powers, and New Game Plus.
UC Vanguard
Located in New Atlantis of Planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system, UC Vanguard is also known as the United Colonies. You’ll come across this faction within four hours of your gameplay. With a special focus on its military, citizens, laws, and orders, UC Vanguard is considered as the ideal place to stay for space explorers. UC Vanguard can also be considered as the best faction to join because of its easy access to more credits, weapons, and weapon mods in the early game. Not only that, enlisting in UC Vanguard will also allow you to be a United Colonies Citizen.
Crimson Fleet
If you really love space piracy, then Crimson Fleet is your way to go! Although this faction does not have a proper home, you can still locate their base at The Key of Planet Kryx. Crimson Fleet can often be found in the settled systems of both the United Colonies and Freestar Collective and are also marked as a threat to them. To join Crimson Fleet, you need to do the Deep Cover quest given by the UC SysDef. This a mission that will be kicked off if you get caught carrying contraband or if you are doing naughty things in United Colonies space.
Freestar Collective
Located in Akila City of planet Akila in the Cheyenne system, Freestar Collective is considered the second-largest settled system after the United Colonies. This faction is more like the space cowboys who once fought with the United Colonies to keep their freedom. Players can join the Freestar Rangers or Freetstar Collective after completing the ‘Job Gone Wrong’ quest.
Ryujin Industries
Located in the Neon of Planet Volii Alpha in the Volii system, Ryujin Industries is a huge conglomerate run by Masako Imada. If you fancy going up the corporate ladder inside Starfield, you may consider joining this faction. To join this faction, you’ll need to complete the ‘Back to the Grind’ quest.
Hopefully, this list of joinable Starfield Factions will help you to decide which one you should go for. For more Starfield content, check these out,
