During the Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2023, the Vice President of Creative Business Unit II of Square Enix, Yu Miyake, revealed that Ocotopath Traveler II will be available on Xbox and Windows platforms in early 2024.
This is fantastic news for fans of JRPGs, as Ocotopath Traveller II is one of the best JRPGs I’ve played in years (despite a bit of nudging to give it a try). Check out the announcement trailer below.
In addition to this news, Yu Miyake also revealed that Square Enix will be working to bring more of its games to the Xbox platform. As you may be aware, there has been a disconnect between Square Enix and Xbox for the past few years, but this seems to be changing. With this reveal, as well as the reveal of Final Fantasy XIV finally making its way to Xbox, things are looking better. And now that it’s been confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth only has a short exclusivity period on the PS5, people are wondering if the next chapter is also heading to Xbox, as well as the PC.
The Outerhaven reviewed Octopath Traveller I for the Switch, so give that a read while you await the Xbox version.
