Ghost Song, the indie-developed Metroidvania title that was released earlier this year, is about to get even better, thanks to a new update. According to the developer of the title, Matt White, a Ghost Song update 1.2.12 was recently released for the game, contains a number of game fixes, and adds new side content.
While I didn’t have any issues with Ghost Song when I reviewed it, I did mention that the game was a bit on the short side. Hopefully, this new content will add some more longevity to the game.

Before this update, I’ve played through Ghost Song twice, as the game features multiple endings, with one that clears up the game a bit more than the other. Now, with the new content, I’ll definitely be picking up the game again to see what this is all about, and hopefully, it adds more lore to the game.
Ghost Song provides an exciting combination of gameplay and story while taking some cues from a certain roguelike. It’s a Metroidvania title, and I know we’ve seen more than our fair share of them, but it is one of the more enjoyable indie titles of 2023. If you haven’t played it yet and enjoy Metroidvanias with a story, challenge, and a bit spooky, I recommend trying this game.
Ghost Song is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
