This is for your troubles
Those who tried to play Wayfinder, the Early Access MMO, during its first week will tell you that the game had a number of issues, including the lack of being able to log into the game. It was a mess, and despite the developer’s best efforts, players were frustrated, and rightfully so. However, now that the issues have been resolved, Airship Syndicate has revealed how they plan to make things right for everyone who had a less-than-stellar experience.
Anyone who attempted to log in to Wayfinder between 8/17 thru 8/25 will receive the following added to their accounts as a thank you for sticking it out during all of the problems.
- A Wayfinder Token to unlock a Wayfinder of your choice
- 1100 Runesilver
- 5 Reward Tower Keys
This is a generous package, especially the Wayfinder Token, as it takes forever to farm new characters, and the extra Runesilver isn’t bad either.
They do ask to allow for some time for the items to appear. However, if you don’t see them after a few days, contact them at https://playwayfinder.zendesk.com. I logged in and received a message that I had received my items.
In addition, a “State of the Game” was also released, which talks about what still needs to be done, what is up next as part of the roadmap, and current patch notes. You can read all of that here.
As someone who played in the Wayfinder closed beta, put down some money for the founder’s edition, and was one of the thousands who was fed up with the game. But I did see that the developers were putting their best foot forward, even coming in and working on the game on the weekend. The amount of crap it dealt with over the first seven days was enough to piss off anyone. Thankfully, the game is in a better position, though I wouldn’t pay to play the game just yet. There’s still some work to be done before I can recommend the game, but at least the game is headed in the right direction.
Wayfinder is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC as an Early Access title. However, you’ll have to purchase a Founders Package to play the game. Or wait for the game to go Free to Play, but there’s no ETA on when that will be.
