While Gunfire Games’ shooter RPG, Remnant 2, has been a smash hit, no matter which platform it is on, there’s still one thing on the minds of everyone playing the; the lack of crossplay. Now, there’s doubt that playing a game that allows you to play with friends no matter which platform enhances the gameplay. Yet, there’s still the question of if and when crossplay is coming to Remnant 2.
Does Remnant 2 have crossplay?
During our review, Remnant 2 did not support crossplay across the available PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC platforms. However, we did ask the developer and were told that it had been on the developer’s mind while it wasn’t in at launch. Then a few weeks later, Gunfire Games’ Game Director, David Adams, hosted a “Remnant 2 AMA” on Reddit, where crossplay support was brought up again.
Adams once again confirmed that crossplay is something that the team wants to implement. However, Gunfire Games is encountering “issues with the different platforms and what they require in order to allow crossplay.” Sadly, this echoes other developers’ concerns while trying to implement crossplay with their games and dealing with specific platforms.
For now, we’ll have to settle with playing Remannt 2 without crossplay and keep our fingers crossed that crossplay might eventually make its way into the game.
However, outside of crossplay, we know that load-outs are another feature that game fans want to see. I already knew this after playing a lot of the game, but also talking to people about missing features. Now, with a recent poll by Gunfire Games making the rounds, it looks like Remnant 2 will support load-outs in the near future.
Remnant 2 is the follow-up to Remnant from the Ashes, a favorite of mine, and is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Speaking of Remnant 2, why not give our Remnant 2 review a read? I called it one of the best Soulslike games I’ve ever played and a worthy follow-up to Remnant from the Ashes.
