2K has unveiled that 18-time All-Star, five-time NBA Champion, two-time Finals MVP, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, the all-time leading scorer for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant will be featured as the NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition and Black Mamba Edition cover athlete.
Even though Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, passed away in 2020, fans of the Black Mamba still talk about how much of a legend he was, both on and off the court. I still recall the day and, at first, thought it was someone’s idea of a sick joke, and then joined the world in mourning their favorite NBA Los Angeles Laker.
Seeing Kobe Bryant immortalized on the cover of NBA 2K24 is just another reason why he was so damned amazing and why he’s still sorely missed.
Lastly, we happened to notice that NBA 2K24 will also feature cross-play/cross-platform support, as mentioned over at ESPN, and that’s great news. Just like other games, such as shooters and fighting games, cross-play/cross-platform support brings more gamers together, and it’s about time that the biggest Basketball video game in the world joined in on the action.
More details about other NBA 2K24 modes and which platforms NBA 2K24 will be released on a later date.
