Some of us in the community who has been following Tower of Fantasy got some awesome news with the new stream from the developers all about the new region, Vera.
Vera will be divided into two separate regions, the Desert and the Cyberpunk city of Mirroria.
The Desert has rocky areas, normal sand dunes, and the one you need to look out for, quicksand belts. You can get fall into the quicksand if you don’t get out soon enough. There will be Oasis areas that help add more variety to the Desert as well as some safe spaces in the Desert. There will be two new world bosses in the Desert to defeat with other players in the game. Magma, and Rudolph.
Magma is a giant monster shrouded in scales and Rudolph is pretty much a giant robotic reindeer in the middle of a desert.
I am honestly more interested though in the Oriental Cyberpunk city of Mirroria. We get to see a museum just called the Archive that documents all the monsters and beasts that you have killed and seen. It is honestly a really cool idea and having it play a part in the story is really cool.
We asked Veronica Cai, Senior Publishing & Live-op Manager of Tencent what inspiration they had with creating the Vera Region. Her response was discussing that with the areas they have available right now with Astra, Banges, Navia and other areas that are already in the game, they wanted something that was extremely different in tone and appearance to the rest of Tower of Fantasy. That is also how they desired the story would be as well. Vera is going to be a completely different experience which is also why they are going to give players the choice to skip right to Vera if they want. No spoilers will be revealed from the story prior in this new region and set up.
This is the opportune moment for those who have been burnt out on the game to return and try out this new region once it releases on October 20th, 2022. Also that will be when the game makes its way to Steam. We also got information on the newest character making its debut in Tower of Fantasy, Ruby. Ruby is a support character who appears to use a doll to gather and unleash energy. They have plans to bring in more characters and simulacrums later on to this region. Speaking personally, I am glad they are getting a new support character as there is not a lot of them currently in the game. It feels like most weapons are geared towards DPS or Tank, not with support.
