Today, Konami announced that Bloober Team will be heading the Silent Hill 2 remake, per the Konami Silent Hill Transmission. While the game isn’t labeled Silent Hill Remake, it was stated several times that this is a remake of the second Silent Hill title.
This remake is being built using the Unreal Engine 5 game engine, meaning it should look amazing. However, the details of what is being changed in the remake have not been revealed, and we will likely not know about that for some time. There is currently no release date for Silent Hill 2 remake.
That said, there was also quite a bit of disappointing news — the title is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for 12 months after its initial release. This means that Xbox players will have to wait a year to get their hands on it. This exclusive period, however, does not affect the PC release.
Of course, once we know more about the Silent Hill 2 remake, we’ll definitely let you know.
