Steelrising, the Victorian era Soulslike, is about to get a New Game Plus difficulty, this September 29th, 2022. According to the developer, Spiders, some people may have stated that Steeling rising isn’t hard enough, so they’ve added a new game difficulty.
This new game mode will include new enemy variations, so if you already had them all figured out, this may be a new challenge for you. Once the difficulty is selected via the Assist setting, you can enable and disable it at will, without worrying about being locked in. Also included will be four new weapons, and a new full outfit.
It’s a bit weird that they’re calling it New Game Plus, as that’s typically a mode or difficulty that’s unlocked once players have beaten a game. Those who are familiar with the Dark Souls games, understand what I’m talking about. I suppose we’ll have to wait until September 29th, 2022, to see what’s going on.
We’ve reviewed the title, and we enjoyed it mostly. However, the game suffers from graphical issues, the environments are repetitive, and ultimately the game becomes way too easy. I suppose that’s why they’re adding a new difficulty.
Steelrising is currently available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
