Samurai Shodown characters Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger will be joining King of Fighters XV as the newest DLC team, Team Samurai. The news was announced during this past EVO 2022 tournament.
This is the next team after Team Awakened Orochi with the awakened version of Yashiro, Shermie, and Chirs. This in-company crossover would officially have 4 series reuniting again that have not been revisited since Capcom VS SNK 2. With Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, and The Art of Fighting finally being in the same game.
The trailer shows off the Samurai Shodown characters in the style of King of Fighters with all the shading and stylized looks that we have seen so far. With Darli Dagger easily bringing the service to the fans. Was there a better pick besides her? You be the judge. Though I wonder how this is fair as these three are all armed with weapons against martial artists. The DLC is scheduled for release this coming Autumn.
Also revealed is that more DLC characters will be coming down the line in the next season. The next characters are the fanboy of Kyo Kusanagi, Shingo Yabuki, and the returning veteran of Taekwondo Kim Kaphwan. With the trailer announcing that cross-play will be coming to the game. So now PS4, PS5, Xbox Consoles, and PC players can now play together. This update will be coming sometime in 2023.
King of Fighters XV is available for all consoles and PC excluding the Nintendo Switch.
