Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels Map Looks Like a Lot of Fun

By Keith MitchellJuly 16, 2022
Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels -01

It wasn’t that long ago that Xbox and Hot Wheels revealed the next expansion for Forza Horizon 5, Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels. Which will be released on July 19th, 2022, for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The expansion will also be available via the Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass.

While we’re continuing to wait for this eagerly awaited DLC, Playground Games has revealed the Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels map that shows off the new biome and all of the new tracks.

What’s interesting about this new map is that it won’t be taking place in Mexico. Instead, it will be taking place entirely in the sky, comprised of three islands and the Horizon Nexus, all connected with lots of orange Hot Wheels tracks. Each island consists of a different theme; Snowy (Ice Cauldron), Forest (Forest Falls), and Mountain (Giant’s Canyon) regions.

That’s not all, as ten new cars will also be introduced with this new expansion.

  • 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II
  • 2006 Mosler MT900 GT3
  • 2012 Hot Wheels Bad to the Blade
  • 2013 Hot Wheels Baja Bone Shaker
  • 2018 Hot Wheels Chevrolet Camaro COPO
  • 2018 Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar
  • 2019 Brabham BT62
  • 2020 SIERRA Cars ALPHA #23 Yokohama
  • 2021 Hennessey Venom F5

You see that last car on the list? The 2021 Hennessey Venom F5, which happens to be the 4th fastest car in the world. It’s a damned fast car, and one I’m looking forward to giving it a spin. There are also several Hot Wheels-only cars, which should also be fun to play around with.

It all seems exciting and yet, at the same time, quite a problem. I loved the first Hot Wheels expansion for Forza Horizon 3. So much that I didn’t want to go back to the original tracks. If this expansion is nearly as good (or better) as that one, I could see the same thing happening.  We’ll find out next week.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels releases July 19th, 2022, for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.  It can be purchased individually for $19.99, via the Forza Horizon 5 Expansions Bundle for $34.99, or as part of the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition, for $79.99. It will also be available via the Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass.
