In many ways, the Nintendo Switch is proof that no company is “out” until they’re actually out. Because after the colossal failure that was the Wii U, many felt that Nintendo MAYBE had one console left in its lifetime before bowing out to just be a software maker. But instead, they broke out the Switch, made a TON of successful software for it, and the thing flew off the shelves, and continues to sell to this day. This brings us to the PS4.
Because globally, the Sony system is still above the Nintendo platform, but as the newest NPD data shows, the Nintendo Switch has actually surpassed PS4 sales in the US. This makes it the fourth highest-selling console ever in the country, behind the PS2, Xbox 360, and Wii. And when you add that to the global numbers of 107 million, you can see just how grand the Switch has gotten.
