Today, Capcom hosted its Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event, full of interesting tidbits and information.
First up, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a DLC expansion for Monster Hunter: Rise, now has a release date. Releasing on June 30th, 2022, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will add new content for both the Nintendo Switch and PC versions of MH: Rise.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak includes several new game mechanics, locations, and more. Jumping into the DLC, players will shift to the new location called “The Citadel,” which will feature new lifeforms, both friendly and well, not so friendly. New monsters such as the Garangolm, Lunagaron, Blood Orange Bishaten, and Astalos will challenge even the most veteran of Monster Hunters. While the first three monsters are new, the Astalos is a returning fan-favorite, first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations.
Sadly, there has still been no mention of any cross-play or cross-progression support between the Nintendo Switch and PC versions of Monster Hunter Rise.
Players will experience a new story when a new character, Dame Fiorayne, who’ll comes to the player’s aid when a newly discovered monster is encountered. Who then requests help from the hunters, and thus a new adventure begins, starting at the Elgado Outpost.
