There are a few key points during the sales year for video games where you would expect to see jumps in the sales themselves. E3 has the potential to do that, big game releases can definitely move console units, and then, there are the Winter holidays. Because between the Black Friday weekend after Thanksgiving and the sales around Christmas, consoles can very easily become the top-selling thing in electronics. The Nintendo Switch just proved that again with its US November numbers.
Because according to Nintendo via the latest NPD numbers, the combined sales of all the Nintendo Switch models led to the system being bought over 1.13 million times. And half of those times was during the Black Friday weekend:
Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said in a statement:
“With a wide-ranging library of games and three options to choose from between Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, the Nintendo Switch family of systems offers something for everyone this holiday season. As we head into 2022 and the sixth year of Nintendo Switch, the system continues to see strong demand. We look forward to even more people adding Nintendo Switch to their households!”
