It was revealed during tonight’s Producer’s Live Letter that the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion will be delayed by two weeks. The new release date for the expansion will be December 7, 2021.
For those who pre-ordered, your new early access date is December 3, 2021.
Game Producer, Naoki Yoshida, stated that the reasons for the delay were his own quality assurance for the game. He wanted to make sure that the product lived up to the standards he had for it and for players’ expectations. Yoshida-san then proceeded to break down into tears after delivering the announcement, a clear sign of his passion for the game and the regret he feels for the players who have to wait some additional time.
The Live Letter revealed that the decision was made last Friday.
However, there was some silver lining as they also announced that Patch 6.01 is slated for a December 21 release and Patch 6.05 will be coming on January 4. While no specific details were provided for those patches, more will be revealed in time.
