Delayed until the second half of 2022.
Take-Two has announced that the upcoming tactical XCOM-like card game Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been subjected to a massive delay. According to its second-quarter earnings call, the title is being delayed to the second half of 2022.
Needless to say, if you were looking forward to playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns, it’s going to be quite some time before that will be a reality. Originally scheduled for a release in March 2022, Midnight Suns could be released anywhere from July to December 2022.
“We decided to share that we’ve made a very tough decision to move our launch window to the second half of 2022. We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and this decision didn’t come lightly. We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible. We believe in our creative vision for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and want to do justice in delivering an unforgettable adventure set in the supernatural side of Marvel. These extra months will be used to add more story, cinematics and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality.” stated creative director Jake Solomon.
That’s quite the massive delay, but as we always say around these parts, any delay that’s used to make a game as good as it can be is worthwhile. Thanks to the release and the eventual disaster caused by a game that I won’t mention, ever since then, we’ve seen quite the number of developers taking their time with game development and delaying games if needed.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns was revealed back in August 2021 and will involve a massive supernatural tale that echos a previous comic run from Marvel, ironically enough called Marvel’s Midnight Sons.
Marvel’s Suns of Midnight will be playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
