If you’ve been reading our content for the past year or so, you’d know that I’m a HUGE fan of Fromsoftware’s games. You know, Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. And not just those games, but also the games that attempted to either emulate or innovate, such as the Nioh and The Surge games. So it comes to no surprise that I’m eagerly awaiting the next game from the Fromsoftware camp, Elden Ring. It’s been quite some time since the game was announced, and while the game has been rated in several countries and we have a release date, we haven’t seen any gameplay from the game. That is until now.
Over the weekend, a short clip lasting about 28-seconds appeared on the internet. From what I gathered, this clip is from the Xbox One version. It doesn’t look the greatest, and besides the compass that sits on top of the screen, you could confuse this for Dark Souls III. However, it does show that someone out there is playing the game. As I mentioned in a previous article, there’s no way the game could receive a rating if there weren’t a playable version of the game available. So some lucky soul is undoubtedly playing Elden Ring.
This leaked footage doesn’t show much of anything. It’s just that we see the game in action that is causing me to be excited.
[videopress eHkp5Pyq]I’ve seen this clip making the rounds, and Bandi Namco has been doing its best to get rid of this clip. Unfounratly for them, more and more people have copied, and to our fault, sites have been reporting on this clip. It’s too late to pull it; it’s famous now.
As for when we’ll get our hands on Elden Ring, it’s a bit longer than initially announced. While writing this piece, Bandai Namco announced that Elden Ring was delayed to February 25th, 2022. Although they also mentioned that an Elden Ring beta would take play in November 2021.
Important message:
ELDEN RING will release on Feb 25, 2022, as the depth & strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations. Thank you for your trust & patience. We look forward to seeing you experience the game in the Closed Network Test in Nov.
