Now that PlayStation revealed the release date for Gran Turismo 7, it’s time to talk about the pre-orders and special editions announced. As shown on the PlayStation blog, several versions of the game are available for pre-order, starting today.
The first is the Gran Turismo 7 Launch Edition, which is available for the PlayStation 4 ($59.99) and PlayStation 5 ($69.99). Both include a copy of the game and the following in-game items;
- 100,000 CR (in-game credit)
- Three-car pack, including:
- Mazda RX-Vision Stealth Model
- Porsche 917 Living Legend
- Toyota Supra GT500 Castrol TOM’S
You can pre-order either copy over on the PlayStation Store or most retailers.
For fans looking for something extra, there’s the Gran Turismo 7 – 25th Anniversary Edition, also available for the PlayStation 5 and includes a voucher to download the PlayStation 4 version. This retails for $89.99 and includes the following;
- PS5 Game Disc with PS4 Digital Game Entitlement via voucher
- Exclusive SteelBook case
- 1,100,000 CR (in-game credit)
- Toyota GR Yaris with country-specific livery
- 30 manufacturer & partner PSN Avatars
- The Music of Gran Turismo Official Soundtrack
- Three-car pack, including:
- MAZDA RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT Stealth Model
- Porsche 917 LIVING LEGEND
- Toyota Supra GT500 ’97 (Castrol TOM’S)
While this version doesn’t include a car model, similar to the past special editions of Gran Turismo, it does include one very sexy steelbook case. I have a fetish for steelbook cases; this one looks fantastic. It’s a must-have for fans of the racing series.
There’s also a Digital Deluxe version of the Gran Turismo 7 – 25th Anniversary Edition that includes everything, except for the steelbook case. At the time of this article, the Digital Deluxe version was not shown on the PlayStation Store. Come to think of it, nor was the standard digital version of the game either. I suppose that will make its way to the PlayStation Store eventually.
Gran Turismo 7 will be released on March 4th, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. For many, including myself, this title is one of the reasons why I picked up a PlayStation 5. I’ve been a huge fan of the series ever since the first game, and I can’t wait to see what Polyphony Digital can do with the power of the PlayStation 5.
