We got another brief look at Dotemu’s upcoming beat-em-up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge at this week’s Gamescom. We got to see the turtles’ long-time ally, April O’Neil, this time around as she was officially confirmed as a playable character.
Sporting her iconic yellow jumpsuit and trusty reporting gear, April unleashes flurries of hits against the Foot Clan’s devious soldiers via new gameplay. Her agility and far-reaching slide kicks help her close in on targets quickly, and she once again proves the turtles can rely on her unwavering support, even through slices of pizza.
April will be bringing her own flair to combat similarly to how all of the turtles have moves that fit their personalities in Shredder’s Revenge. A lot of her moves utilize various elements that you associate with reporters, such as microphones and cameras. Instead of providing hard-hitting journalism, she provides hard-hitting combos and juggles instead.
It would be easy to assume that more classic characters are on the way to join April and the turtles against the Foot Clan. My fingers are crossed for Casey Jones, Splinter, and Slash. But those are pretty safe guesses.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be released in 2022 on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
