ATLUS has released the Volume 2 trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V.
This is after volume 1, in which they revealed the characters and new beginning details of the game.
This time, we get a bit more details in regards to the recent Bethel trailer that was released earlier. Namely, we know the name of the soldier that shares a resemblance to a Devil Summoner. He is called Shohei Yakumo. Seems that he harbors animosity to the main character and wonders about the player’s involvement with the conflict between angels and demons.
Another character we now know the name is the snake goddess who wears a red dress. Her name is Joka, a nuwa. She is an ally of Yakumo. Saying that he is her other half. As shown in the Bethel trailer, she has no kindness to Angels and slaughters the ones who enter her domain.
We also know the name of the golden female archangel. Her name is Abdiel. She also serves as Bethel’s Deputy Angel Commander. She is stern and will do whatever to carry out the will of Bethel and God.
We then are given more details in regards to demon fusion and miracles. As with prior games, you can change certain attacks and attributes to suit your preference and battle situations for your demons. Miracles are skills that are exclusive to the player. The miracle that they showed off here is some can increase your status, like defense. Other miracles involve the pacification of demons, should you fail during a negotiation. To learn miracles, you need to earn Glory as you travel the world in Shin Megami Tensei V. Finally, some quality of life improvements were also revealed, like fast/ skipping combat animations.
The next volume news trailer will be sometime in late September. Will there be another trailer like the Bethel trailer before then? We shall wait and see. Overall this news helps with the wait until November. Just what else is there to be revealed? What other demons and creatures can we also talk and befriend? The excitement only continues to build as we slowly approach release.
Shin Megami Tensei V is set for November 11, 2021, for Nintendo Switch.
