Now there’s one more reason to get excited for Dying Light 2, at least for the PC version. Today, Techland announced that Ray Tracing and DLSS support is coming to Dying Light 2. This will be the first game from Techland to support either of the technologies.
Thanks to Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), even the most modest PCs can run games at a better visual fidelity without a heavy overhead hit. All thanks to the power of AI and onboard processors (Tensor Core). As someone who’s been using DLSS in nearly most of his games, I can attest to just how great DLSS is. At least when you’re using an RTX 2000 or 3000 series video card that supports the technology.
Ray Tracing is also being supported, again, if you have either of Nvidia’s RTX series cards. Check out this trailer that explains and shows what to expect when Dying Light 2 is released for the PC.
While AMD cards can also support Ray Tracing, there hasn’t been any word on if or when Dying Light 2 will support this as of yet.
Dying Light 2 releases on December 7th, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As for what version I’ll be playing, do you even have to ask? I’ll be playing the PC version to see just how the good the Ray Tracing and DLSS additions work. Expect to see more coverage of Dying Light 2 from The Outerhaven in the upcoming months.
