Destiny 2 to finally get a competent anti-cheat solution.
While it was originally leaked, Bungie has confirmed they are partnering with the anti-cheat solution team, BattlEye. This is a prayer for everyone who enjoys the game and wants to play on a level playing field.
Sadly, the current anti-cheat that Bungie implemented into Destiny 2 hasn’t had the best track record for stopping cheaters. In fact, it wasn’t that long ago that one particular cheater had dared Bungie to ban him while streaming the game. It just gets worse whenever any event that involves PVP comes around, as that’s when all the cheaters come out.
Here’s to hoping BattlEye changes all this.
Our partnership with BattlEye will soft launch next Season. Just another step toward a level playing field for all.

One of the reasons I stopped playing Destiny 2, and we’re talking about a game that I played non-stop, was rampant cheating. Especially in PVP, it was simply terrible. And at the time, it didn’t seem like Bungie was doing enough to stop it from happening. Sure, they kept banning players and kept saying they were making progress, but the same thing would happen repeatedly. However, today, it looks that Bungie is taking a huge step in curving the cheating and hacks by upgrading Destiny 2’s anti-cheat solution by moving over to BattlEye.
We’ll know more about when Bungie plans to reveal when Destiny 2 and BattlEye tie the knot next week during the Destiny 2 Showcase on August 24th, 9 AM PDT / 12 PM EDT.
What is BattlEye?
BattlEye is perhaps one of the better anti-cheat solutions out there and has been deployed in several games, including some you’ve probably heard of; Fortnite, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, and many others. While it’s touted as the “Gold Standard” of anti-cheat solutions, it’s not without its headaches. It is resource-heavy, does have issues when updating, and a few other issues. However, there’s no denying that how BattlEye is implemented has been a huge win for those looking to enjoy the games they play.
I can definitely see BattlEye making a huge difference once it gets deployed into Destiny 2. And maybe, just maybe, that could be enough to get me to get back into some Destiny 2 PVP. Well, that and if Bungie fixes Statis in PVP.
Destiny 2 is playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, and PC.
