Ubisoft is updating Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with 60FPS for the current-gen consoles.
Earlier today, Ubisoft revealed that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will support 60FPS when playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This update, update 1.6.0, will be rolled out on August 24th, 2021, which will enable 60FPS support when Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is played via backward compatibility on either console. This is great news as Ubisoft never released an updated version of the title for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Missing Ancient Greece? A new title update for Assassin's Creed Odyssey will be deployed on August 24, adding 60FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility! #AssassinsCreed

The update will take up 370MB on the Xbox platforms and 470MB on the PlayStation platforms.
Obviously, adding 60FPS support to an older game could attract those who’ve upgraded to the newer consoles but didn’t want to play at the lower frame rate. I mean, that’s why we purchased these new consoles. Seems like more and more developers have been going back and updating their games to support higher framerates on both consoles. Well, that and Xbox’s own solution, FPS Boost, that involves some sort of space techno-magic, but I’m not complaining about it.
As for me, I think I’ll give the game a replay, as it still is one of my favorite games in the series, and it deserves a replay, for sure. What about you? Will this new update get you to give the game another play-through? Let us know in the comments.
