Understandably, COVID has slowed down game development throughout 2020 and 2021 with everything from Arkane’s 60’s-inspired shooter Deathloop to Daedelic’s curious new take on the scheming Gollum in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum being hit delays in addition to numerous other titles set to release within the last two years.
Revealed during the July 2020 Xbox Showcase, Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a co-op shooter similar to their previous Vermentide titles and the iconic Left 4 Dead franchise. In the months after the cinematic reveal, Fatshark showcased gameplay clips and even a writer reveal, the respected Dan Habnett is the lead writer for Darktide, but a concrete release window was never announced aside from a vague 2021 release till now.
Warhammer 40K: Darktide is published and developed by FatShark. The title is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC in addition to coming day one to Xbox Game Pass with a release window of Spring 2022.
