The Monster Hunter franchise for a long time was considered niche due to its Japanese style of gameplay, world usage, story, and more. But when Monster Hunter World came to the West, it changed everything. This led to Monster Hunter Rise selling many millions this year upon release to the Nintendo Switch and PC, and many were wondering if Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings Of Ruin would do as well. As of yet, it hasn’t done THAT number, but it has shipped a million worldwide in about two weeks.
The news comes from Capcom, where they dropped an announcement about the worldwide shipping of the game:
Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin for Nintendo Switch and PC has shipped 1 million units worldwide.
The title garnered positive reception following a demo version released prior to launch, leading global shipments to exceed 1 million units.
Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all users by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities.
Now, to be clear, “shipped” doesn’t mean sold copies, but if you’re shipping a million worldwide it’s because there is demand for it. And this means that Monster Hunter has yet another success on its hands.
