Sonic Colors Ultimate Team Talk New Changes To The Game

Sonic Colors Ultimate

There were a lot of things announced in the Sonic Central presentation that occurred last week, but one of the biggest things by far was the announcement of Sonic Colors Ultimate. This would be a remastered and improved edition from the 2010 game that came out on The Nintendo Wii and DS. But fans have been asking, just how different is it?

In a chat with Famitsu, Creative officer Takashi Iizuka and creative director Kazuyuki Hoshino both talked about the improvements to the game and what it has to offer this time around. For example, the two talked about WHY we’re getting the game at all:

“Sonic Colors sold a total of 4 million copies across the DS and Wii versions, but there’s no way to play the game on the current generation of consoles. We took a big step forward with the systems in the game, so between that and other improvements we’ve made, we hope people who played the original will find reason to play too.”

As for the actual improvements you can expect:

We’ve added a lot to the original 2010 release. The original Sonic Colors followed on from Sonic Unleashed, but this time we wanted it to be enjoyable for people without that background knowledge and added features that make things a little easier for beginners. We changed so much it gives the ultimate meaning to the word ‘Ultimate’.

Add to that, there’s the “Tails Save System” where you can get a medallion and Tails will save you from falling, and the Gree Wisp from Sonic Team Racing will be in the game as well.

Sonic Colors Ultimate arrives on September 7th on all platforms.
