Announced way back in 2019, DOOM Eternal was slated to receive an update that would enable those sexy Ray Tracing features. However, Bethesda wasn’t sure when that would happen. Now, thanks to the announcement of the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti GPUs, the DOOM Eternal Ray Tracing update now has a release date of sorts.
The DOOM Eternal RTX update will be released in June 2021. We don’t have an exact date on when. In addition to adding RTX, DLSS support is also being added. Meaning you’ll be able to enable DLSS 2.0, crank up the settings, and let the power of AI keep things in check for you.
Check out DOOM Eternal running on an RTX 3080 Ti with 4K Ray Tracing enabled. From the video, we can see that with the settings maxed and running at 4K, the card could average between 70-110 FPS.
