The upcoming Aliens: Fireteam Elite now has a release date and will launch on August 24th, 2021, for PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. And yes, the Elite bit is new.
The standard edition is priced at $39.99 and $69.99 for the deluxe edition, which includes Endeavor Pass and the Endeavor Veteran Pack. The Endeavor Pass includes four cosmetic DLC bundles — including class kit skins, weapon colors, head accessories, and more. The Endeavor Veteran Pack will contain over 20 cosmetic items, including armor kit skins, emotes, weapon colors, and decals. Both packs will also be available to purchase individually.
Sadly, crossplay between platforms isn’t supported. You’ll be able to do some cross-gen gaming between the PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but that’s it. We were hoping Aliens: Fireteam crossplay was a done deal, but those dreams are now crushed.
Taking place 23 years after Aliens, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a 3rd person co-op shooter that pits players against waves of swarming Aliens. You know, just like Aliens the movie. However, unlike the movie, this game is more of an action-oriented title. You’ll take on the roles of several classes; Demolisher, Doc, Recon, Technician, and Gunner. Each class has something to contribute and hopefully will help you survive.
I’ve been looking forward to this game as both a gamer and a fan of the Alien movie franchise. I can’t wait to give Aliens: Fireteam Elite some hands-on when it releases next month.
