The Fire Emblem franchise has grown a lot in the last several years. From Awakening to Three Houses to Heroes the franchise has become a top-tier IP for Nintendo and they know that they have something that many gamers will play when a new one releases. But now, a long-requested game from the history of the franchise might finally be getting its due in terms of a remastering: Fire Emblem Genealogy Of The Holy War.
This was one of many Fire Emblem titles that were only released in Japan, but is arguably one of their best titles in terms of scale and scope. As it follows two different generations of heroes as they try and save their lands. Fire Emblem Heroes even brought in many of these characters into the mobile game and showed interactions beyond what the original game could show.
But as for a true remastering, that has never happened, but according to Nintendo insider Zippo, it might be what comes out next:
“From what I’ve heard, Intelligent Systems has been working on a Fire Emblem title that they’re developing separately from Three Houses on their own that is very close to nearing completion,” said Zippo.
He specifically mentioned Fire Emblem Genealogy Of The Holy War as the title that might get the remaster treatment. This is not unprecedented because, during the 3DS Era, Nintendo and Intelligent System remade Fire Emblem Gaiden and turned it into Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Greatly expanding the story and delivering a true Fire Emblem experience as a result.
While it remains to be seen if this rumor is true, there are many fans of the franchise who would no doubt love this.
