It’s not even E3 2021 time, yet here we are and Ubisoft is already teasing gameplay from its upcoming Far Cry 6 title. On May 28th, 2021 at 9:30 AM PDT / 12:30 PM EDT, we’ll finally see some gameplay and hopefully, get a release date for the next chapter in the Far Cry series.
What’s interesting here is that I would have assumed Ubisoft would wait for its own gaming event, Ubisoft Forward. Which takes place on June 12, 2021 – but I’m not complaining one bit.
As for what we already know about Far Cry 6, we do know that the game takes place on the fictional island of Yara. The heart of the Caribbean, a tropical island with a diverse environment consisting of beaches and jungles. The country is a dictatorship under the control of Antón Castillo, played by and likeness of Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad). Antón Castillo will be grooming his son, Diego, to follow in his footsteps, despite not being sure if it’s the right thing to do. While players will assume the role of the guerrilla soldier Dani Rojas, a character that can be both male or female.
Far Cry 6 was originally scheduled to be released in 2020 but was delayed. As of now, we still don’t know when the game will be released. However, when it does, it will be available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PC, Google Stadia, and Amazon’s Luna.
Yes, I’m looking forward to this, despite not enjoying Far Cry 5. Can’t wait for this gameplay reveal.
