Many of us here at The Outerhaven are fans of the Ace Attorney franchise (in fact, I’m replaying the original trilogy on Switch right now!), but fans are hungry for more, especially in the West. While we wait for the (hopefully…) inevitable Ace Attorney 7, Capcom has revealed that they’re bringing some previous Japan-only titles from the Ace Attorney line to the West for the first time. Because soon, fans will be able to enjoy The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.
This announcement came from Shu Takumi, the director of the two Ace Attorney franchises. If you’re not familiar, The Great Ace Attorney takes place in the 19th century with the ancestor to Phoenix Wright as he solves cases both at home in Japan and abroad in Victorian England alongside his own cast of unique characters (not the least of which is a poorly named Sherlock Holmes spoof). There have been two games in this line and now, they’ll be coming to the West this July. You can get more details below.
くらえ! #TheGreatAceAttorneyChronicles collects the novel courtroom antics of two previously Japan-only games! Join Phoenix Wright’s ancestor Ryunosuke in thrilling court cases at the turn of the 20th century. Coming to Switch, PS4, and Steam July 27th!

This will be a great opportunity for those who have wanted to experience these other Ace Attorney titles but couldn’t before, and with 50 hours of gameplay, you’ll be tied up in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles legal battles for some time. And hopefully this will encourage Capcom to get to work on Ace Attorney 7 because…fans deserve it.
