Sega has finally announced when we’ll be able to get our hands on Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. This June 2021, the title will see a worldwide release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam/Epic Games Store/Microsoft Store) in the West. While in Japan, the title will be released for the PS4, PS5, PC, and Switch (cloud version).
In addition to the release date, Sega will release a character creator in May 2021. This will only be accessible to the PC version of the game but will be made available worldwide. You’ll be able to create a character and bring that creation over to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis when the game launches. You can see this in action by going here.
Following the release of the game, a starter package will also be made available in August. This will be exclusive to Japan and includes several in-game items and a mini soundtrack, priced at 4,490 Japanese Yen.
This news comes from the recent Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis live stream today. You can watch the stream in its entirety below.
Now that we have a release date, will you be jumping into the upgraded version? Or will you be playing both the original and New Genesis? Either way, perhaps we’ll see you online?
