LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been delayed to an unknown release date by developer TT Games.
In a tweet released today, developer TT Games has stated that they want to take more time to make the best LEGO Star Wars game possible. You can read the statement below:
First revealed back in June 2019, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will retell the complete Star Wars saga, from Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker, in LEGO form. It will contain basically every character you can imagine from the popular sci-fi universe, from Darth Vader to… ugh… Rey “Skywalker”. The delay could be the result of things moving beyond the 9 movie series and possibly including aspects from other Star Wars properties based in the movie universe… Can anyone say possible Mandalorian mini section?
It does look like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is joining the long line of announced games being delayed till late 2021, or even some time in 2022, to avoid “Cyberpunk 2077 syndrome” where games are released in an unfinished state after a long build-up and advertising period. Remember people, delays to make sure the game is a good thing, not a bad thing. Yes, 2021 releases have been very sparse, but when the end results in a quality product, it’s worth the wait.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will (eventually) release on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
