At long last, it looks like Star Wars fans will get to play fan-favorite Knights of the Old Republic again thanks to an upcoming remake. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier spoke to MinnMax Show Podcast about the game but didn’t say much beyond that it is currently in development.
Schreier did not confirm what the remake would entail or if it would be a complete reimagining or a straight copy of assets. He also did not confirm if BioWare has any involvement who developed the original game for LucasArts back in 2003.

The remake is supposedly coming from Aspyr Media who has been behind many Star Wars rereleases to modern consoles over the last few years. So that team being behind a remake of KOTOR does fit the mold of what they have been working on recently. They have also done a really great job porting the classic LucasArts library but they have not done a full-on remake of any of them as of yet.
Rumors have been circulating for years about a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake but all of them have turned out to be unsubstantiated, leaving fans in limbo over the last few years. This is seemingly the first confirmation that it is actually happening, but take it with a grain of salt until we can get an official green light from Aspyr or LucasFilm Games.
