    VIZ Media Hires New Vice President of Consumer Products

    VIZ Media announced today that they have hired Laura Takaragawa as their new Vice President of Consumer Products, Licensing, and Promotions. According to their press release, this is a brand-new position in the company with their direct supervisor being Brian Ige, the Senior Vice President of Animation. 

    This new role will focus on licensed merchandise, collaborations, digital games, and promotional material for licensed products and brands. Laura will also help shape the company’s growth plan based on any and all consumer and licensing activities. This includes building the company’s portfolio and its retail profile.

    Takaragawa previously worked for Sanrio, Netflix, and National Geographic where she also took on leadership roles in regards to licensing
