During today’s Monster Hunter digital event, Capcom had quite a bit of news for the fans of the series. So, let’s get right to it.
First up, there’s a new demo for Monster Hunter Rise that will be releasing on March 11, 2021. Ironically, it was speculated we’d see a new demo ahead of the release of the game. And sure enough, we finally got the announcement of this rumored demo. This demo will see the return of the original three quests from the original demo, plus a new quest that will have players going up against the Magnamalo. A fight against the flagship beast of the game? Well, this should be fun. That brings this demo up to four missions to play. Sadly, this demo is also limited to long you’re able to play it.
Also up for Monster Hunter Rise comes news that players will be able to unlock new skills for each of the 14 weapons available in the game. Then these skills can be used interchangeably with other skills or regular attacks, allowing players to create various combos when hunting.
Capcom is also introducing dynamic difficulty scaling to the game. This feature will ramp up the difficulty when more hunters arrive in-game or lower the challenge if a hunter bails from the group. As a veteran player, I personally respect these beginner-friendly changes. Nintendo fans who may have bounced off of the 3DS entries and even Generations Ultimate on Switch may find Rise more approachable.
