You may remember seeing a pair of unruly but kickass members of the Star Wars: The Bad Batch during the final episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. They were fun, they were interesting, and we’ve exactly wanted the fans wanted. Thankfully, Disney realized this and later announced that we’d see a new show devoted to them, and now we know when it will be released.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
Judging from the trailer that was also released today, we’re going to see the origins of The Bad Batch, followed by a time-hop and seeing what they’re up to now.
I’ve been looking forward to this show, especially since Clone Wars is over and we still don’t have any word on a new series/follow-up to Star Wars: Rebels. The only thing that’s going to hurt is that it will be one episode per week.
