Come February, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download Control: Ultimate Edition, Concrete Genie, and Destruction AllStars. It seems like three games for PS Plus users is now the monthly standard, as it’s been the case for the last couple months. It could also serve as a way to bridge the gap between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners. Concrete Genie is just for PS4, Destruction AllStars is just playable on PS5, and Control: Ultimate Edition is available for both. You can still pick up last month’s three games until tomorrow.
So, let’s take a look at the games available this month.
Remedy Entertainment takes us into the mysterious Federal Bureau of Control, within which things are very much not in control. As Director Jesse Faden, players will remedy that using supernatural powers to fight back against the intruding enemies. The Ultimate Edition includes The Foundation and AWE expansions. Notably, Control for PlayStation 4 doesn’t come with the option to upgrade to next-gen consoles, so this can serve as a workaround for PS Plus subscribers who already own the base game for PS4 and may want to play it for PS5 now or in the future.
For those who want a splash of color in their lives, Pixelopus serves up Concrete Genie. In the action-adventure game, players take on the role of Ash, who explores his hometown of Denska and adds a bit more vibrancy to the depressing state of the city with the help of genies. For those with PS VR, they can immerse themselves in the painting of the city in two additional modes.
The inclusion of Destruction AllStars may not come as a surprise to many early adopters of the PlayStation 5. Lucid Games initially planned to release the game as a launch title for the new console, but then decided to debut the game this February as a PlayStation Plus title. This means that PS5 owners are getting a brand new title this week. As for the gameplay itself, it’s all in the title, as players pick one of 16 AllStars to slide into (and out of) the driver’s seat and cause destruction to their fellow vehicular combatants.
And there we are, PlayStation Plus subscribers can download Control: Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie from February 2nd to March 1st, according to the PlayStation Blog. Again, if you already have Control for PS4, it’s worth downloading the Ultimate Edition so you can upgrade to the PS5 version later on if you like. As for Destruction AllStars, that’s available from Tuesday, February 2nd all the way until Monday, April 5th.
