We all said a fond farewell to everyone’s favorite flag-saluting, shield-wielding symbol of hope back in Avengers: Endgame when he came back as an old man. Yes, Captain America got his happy ending with Peggy and is going to sit out the following movies in the MCU. Or is he?
According to Deadline, Chris Evans is in the midst of a deal with Disney to come back as Cap. While the insiders who gave Deadline the tip weren’t sure if it was a done deal yet, the actor has been in negotiations to return “in at least one Marvel property with the door open for a second film.” At this time, Marvel had no comment. Evans has also not said anything publicly yet.
Of course, this could just be a cameo deal, in which Cap would return in a flashback or maybe in his old form to dispense some words of wisdom. Additionally, it’s totally possible that he might show up as an alternate version of himself in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. After all, if the title is anything to go on, there’s going to be different worlds to explore and thus seeing versions of our favorites could be in the cards. Either way, it’ll only be a matter of time until we get confirmation on when and how we’ll see Evans as Captain America again.
