Nintendo has been looking to expand their reach beyond just games and merchandise for some time now, and today, we got to see firsthand what that would look like in regards to Super Nintendo World! The amusement park made in collaboration with Universal Studios. A special Super Nintendo World Direct showed off just what you can expect, and showed some sneak peaks of all you can do there!
First and foremost, the amusement park looks incredible. It’s detailed from top to bottom, including entering the park through a warp pipe!
Inside, you’ll get to see the Mario world brought to life. From the Goomas and Koopas, to Mario and Luigi walking around, Yoshi and so on. You’ll get to see Peach’s Castle that’s in the style (and music) fo Super Mario 64, you’ll get to see ? Blocks and so much more!
As Shigeru Miyamoto, everyone who goes to Super Nintendo World will get a cool Activity Band. You’ll use these to collect coins, activate the various mini-games and activities and secrets within the park, and connect it to your phone to observe your progress in the park!
Activities will including trying to use a POW! block on a Koopa shell, stealing a key from a sleeping Piranha Plant, a game with a Bob-Omb, and more! Miyamoto was careful to not spoil everything.
There’s also a gift shop and a restaurant that you’ll get to go to, complete with Mario-themed items and food! And yes, there is a Mushroom Burger.
We also got a look at the Mario Kart game, including seeing the carts, the trophies, and the AR headset you’ll wear as you play!
Finally, Miyamoto confirmed that there are plans to bring Super Nintendo World to Orlando, Florida, as well as Hollywood, California, and Singapore!
