Star Wars fans got a major holiday gift today — Disney+ is expanding its stories in a galaxy far, far away. Today, they announced nine new shows for their lineup.
Of the most anticipated shows, there’s Ahsoka, a live-action solo series starring Rosario Dawson as the titular character that takes place in the same timeline as The Mandalorian. There’s also Obi-Wan Kenobi, the solo series that will see Ewan McGregor returning to the role, as well as Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin/Darth Vader.

There is also a trailer for Andor, following Rebel spy Cassian Andor in his missions before the events of Rogue One.

There’s also Lando, a new Lando Calrissian event series, from Justin Simien, who created Dear White People. Rangers of the New Republic is another live-action show also set in the timeline of The Mandalorian. Leslye Headland, creator of Netflix’s Russian Doll, is working on a mystery-thriller called The Acolyte, set in the last days of the High Republic, and in “a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers.”
Patty Jenkins, best known for Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 will be creating a show for LucasFilm entitled Rogue Squadron:

There’s also a ton of animated show to. First off, there’s Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which will follow a group of rogue Stormtroopers from The Clone Wars show.

Star Wars: Visions will be a show featuring animated shorts from talented Japanese anime creators. There will also be an animated film, Star Wars: A Droid Story that will feature R2-D2 and C-3PO.
They also confirmed that Taika Waititi is working on a feature of some kind but there are no more details available.
All of these shows will be hitting Disney+ within the new two years or so.
