Every once in a while a show comes along that just changes everything for the better with its fun, storylines, characters, and more. The Umbrella Academy was that when it came to Netflix a few years back. And when the second season hit, everyone praised it as one of the best seasons of superpowered television ever. But, despite it having all sorts of records in terms of viewership, Netflix hadn’t confirmed its third season. Until now. Because Umbrella Academy Season 3 is a go!

There were already rumors of Season 3 filming early next year, but it was unconfirmed, though this does basically state that it will be coming maybe late next year or early 2022, it just depends on filming and quarantine and such.
Many are very excited for the return of the series because of the big cliffhanger that Season 2 dropped on us. After ensuring history stayed the course in 1963 (or so they thought) the Umbrella Academy went back to their present time only to find their “father” alive…and with a new set of kids labeled The Sparrow Academy.
The showrunners noted that The Umbrella Academy Season 3 will focus on the family trying to figure out what to do, learning more about their powers, and how to rewrite history correctly this time.
Or not, it’s hard to say with this family. To catch up on the time-traveling madness, check out our review of The Umbrella Academy Season 2!
