Masashi Kishimoto took to Twitter to announced that he will be taking over writing the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga. Previously, Ukyo Kodachi was writing the script for it with Kishimoto supervising.
Kishimoto states in the tweet that this was the plan from the beginning but when Boruto started, Kishimoto was focusing on his new series, Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru. Samurai 8 was originally planned to be a 10-volume series but ended up wrapping up with the fifth volume. With Samurai 8 over and done with, Kishimoto put the plan into action and tagged himself in to continue writing Boruto.
Kishimoto is set to take over as soon as the November chapter of the manga which is serialized in Shueisha’s V Jump.
