Rip and Tear on the go.
After months of not saying anything, Bethesda has confirmed that not only has the Switch port of DOOM Eternal not been canceled, but it is already relating fairly soon. A few minutes ago, Bethesda reached out to us and provided a release date of December 8th, 2020, for the Switch version of DOOM Eternal.
And just as we all figured, Panic Button, the studio that has released several amazing Switch ports such as DOOM (2016) and both Wolfenstein titles, has been handling the port.
The Switch version of the game will include gyroscope support to take advantage of the Switch Joy-Cons if you were wondering about that. The Battlemode, a 2 vs. 1 multiplayer experience available in the PC and console ports, is also being included.

What wasn’t mentioned is if DOOM Eternal for the Switch would still see a physical port. Currently, Amazon has listed the physical version as being unavailable for the Switch. There was also a rumor that the game will be released as a digital game only. While we can’t confirm this, we also haven’t found a signal store with the physical game for sale. Everything has been digital.
Update: Bethesda has provided more information regarding DOOM Eternal for the Switch. This is indeed a Digital only release.
