You’ve done it! You’ve bested all of the bosses, you’ve gathered all the items, and maybe you even slaughtered those hapless NPCs that just wanted to help you. So now what? Well, you start a new game, that’s what. You start the loop all over again, and you get back out there.
But perhaps you have questions as to what will carry over to the New Game mode. You probably have lots of goodies sitting in your storage, such as cool weapons, maybe a few Demon’s Souls you didn’t use up. So before you head to New Game, you want some assurance about what will carry over and what disappears. Not to worry, we got you.
Below is everything that you’ll be able to carry over and what will be reset when you start New Game mode.
What Carries Over
- Character stats
- All collected weapons, armor, rings, and shields. Upgrades stay as well.
- All spells and miracles
- All souls, including Demon’s Souls. You’ll still be able to collect newer Demon’s Souls, as they’ll accumulate.
- Character and World Tendency and related events. Meaning if you slaughtered all those NPCs before you started New Game and earned the Pure Black Character Tendency, that also carries over. Same with Pure White Character Tendency. World Tendency can be influenced by the server you’re on, so this fluctuates.
What Doesn’t Carry Over / Will Be Reset
- All bosses are reset.
- All in-game quests are reset.
- All key items that you’ve collected will be reset. This includes keys.
- All dead NPCs will return to life, so it’s a good idea to kill them all to collect their goods before you move over to a new game.
- All opened doors that require keys will be locked again.
Take this opportunity to stock up on items, as your next venture into Demon’s Souls is likely going to get harder. Farm as many shards, chunks, healing items (grass), and Stone of Ephemeral Eyes. The latter is typically a random item, outside of certain drops. However, if you have the souls needed (50,000), you can make the trek to the Filthy Woman vendor in the Valley of Defilement (5-2). That is if you haven’t already killed her.
