During today’s PlayStation Showcase, Sony dropped a bombshell and one that no one saw coming. Announced during the event was the introduction of PlayStation Plus Collection, which is an offering of some of the better selling PlayStation 4 games that will be playable on launch for the PlayStation 5.
But it gets better. These will be titles that can be downloaded straight to your PS5, adding more games to play. As long as you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus, you’ll have access to these games and add no extra cost. It’s like a similar version of the Xbox Game Pass, just with fewer games. Granted this is a smart move on PlayStation’s part as can be how they play to provide backward compatible title access.
Titles mentioned during the announcement are:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Battlefield 1
- Bloodborne
- Days Gone
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV
- God of War
- Infamous: Second Son
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Monster Hunter: World
- Mortal Kombat X
- Persona 5
- Ratchet & Clank
- Resident Evil VII: Biohazard
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Until Dawn
That’s a lot of classic and heavy-hitting titles, that’s for sure. PlayStation Plus Collection will be ready as soon as you fire up your PlayStation 5 for the first time.
